How much does a Martha Lily Photography shoot cost?

Portrait experiences with Martha Lily Photography begin from £595.

This covers the planning of your shoot, the photography experience itself, and your private viewing session afterwards where you’ll see your photographs for the first time and choose a small selection of images to keep.

Most clients then choose a collection of artwork and digital images once they’ve seen their images.

You don’t need to decide anything in advance you simply choose what feels right for you at your viewing session.

If you'd like to learn more about how the experience works, you can visit the Your Shoot page or get in touch to arrange a relaxed call.

My equine portrait shoots take place across Shropshire, the West Midlands, and further afield across the UK.

What if it is due to rain?

We can simply reschedule. It's not a bother. My diary is controlled by the weather, love it or hate it. I love to plan a time nearer the date to get the best light, forecast predictability & to see if it's ok to go ahead wind & rain are not the vibe we're after.

... unless we are? I'm totally down for a torrential notebook vibes, except it's kissing your pony in the rain shoot!

What if my horse won’t stand still?

Don’t worry, they don’t need to.

Most horses are far more relaxed than their owners expect, and I’ll guide you through the whole shoot so it feels easy and natural for both of you.

Some of my favourite images come from the quiet in-between moments rather than perfectly posed ones.

Who can be involved?

All of my horses?

Absolutely, the more the merrier! You can tell me all about all of your horses you'd like involved in your shoot and we can make a plan!

How about my dog?

YES! I love having our smaller but still mighty friends in the shoot, they are part of the family.

What about my partner?

Of course! It's always nice to have the unpaid grooms have their time to shine ;)

What should I wear?

Most people see their horse in the same jodhpurs and yard hoodie every day, but your portraits deserve something beautifully timeless and yet effortless.

I’ll help guide you on what works beautifully on camera so you feel like the best version of yourself while still feeling comfortable and natural.

What if my yard isn’t very pretty?

I love a challenge and there hasn't been a yard or field I've not been able to create incredible art from.

I’m used to working in all sorts of environments and finding the little pockets of light and scenery.

It’s amazing what can be created in the simplest places.

When is the right time for a shoot?

A lot of people delay shoots because they think:

“I’ll wait until he’s fitter.”

“I’ll wait until summer.”

“I’ll wait until the yard looks better.”

“I’ll wait until I’ve lost weight.”

Many people wait for the “perfect” time.

But often the most meaningful photographs are simply about capturing the bond you share exactly as it is now.

Some of the most special shoots I’ve done have been with older horses, and those photographs end up meaning the world to their owners.

If your horse is part of your story, there’s no better time to celebrate that.

How do I know if a shoot with you is right for me?

If you're looking for a quick set of photos between riding or just a few images for social media, I may not be the right photographer for you.

My shoots are designed to be relaxed and unhurried, focusing on capturing the bond between you and your heart horse and creating artwork you'll treasure for years to come.
